How to Curl Your Hair Without Heat

Beautiful curls with Curling Rods

With velvet-covered curling rods, you can create soft blowout-style curls completely without heat. Designed for overnight use, these curling rods make hair curling easy and gentle – by morning, your hair will have natural waves and plenty of volume. Thanks to their compact size, the rods are also easy to take with you when travelling, allowing you to create beautiful curls anywhere.

The velvet surface feels comfortable against the hair and is especially gentle: it does not cause friction or breakage, making the rods safe for regular use. Their soft structure makes them comfortable to sleep in, and they stay securely in place throughout the night.

How to use curling rods

The package includes three rods, which can be arranged, for example, with one placed on top of the head to add volume at the roots and two on each side of the head to create soft waves in the lengths.

For thick or particularly long hair, up to six rods can be used to achieve a more even and voluminous result. For best hold, the rods can be used together with a satin hair bonnet, which helps keep the hair neatly in place overnight.

Beautiful curls quickly and easily with a curling set

With Cailap’s highly popular curling set, you can create stunning overnight curls with ease. The curling set is available in a satin champagne shade as well as a powder-toned velvet finish.

How does the curling set work?

1.

Lightly dampen the hair with a spray bottle or wait after washing until the hair is almost dry. If desired, apply a styling mousse or another product that adds hold.
2.
Part the hair into two sections down the middle of the head.
3.
Place the fabric-covered section of the curling rod on top of the head and secure it with the hair clips included in the set.
4.
Begin wrapping individual hair sections around the rod, starting from the top and working away from the face. Gradually add more hair as you move downward. Secure the ends with a hair tie or scrunchie. Repeat on the other side.
5.
Leave the hair wrapped for 3–6 hours or overnight, until the hair is completely dry.
6.
Carefully remove the hair from the rod and, if desired, finish with hairspray or another styling product.

A satin hair bonnet helps protect curls overnight

A satin hair bonnet is ideal for maintaining curls while sleeping and for protecting curling tools overnight. Wrap the bonnet around the curling set, rods or rollers before going to sleep. The tools stay securely in place, and the satin material helps prevent frizz. The bonnet stays comfortably in position with the help of flexible elastic bands.

Defined curls without heat using curling rods

Cailap’s range also includes curling rod rollers in different sizes. These allow you to create curls of various sizes depending on the desired result. The rods are available in sizes S (small curls), L (medium curls) and XL (large curls or waves).

How do curling rod rollers work?

1.

Lightly dampen the hair and/or apply a styling product before wrapping the hair around the rods. Using styling products helps the curls last longer.
2.
Start wrapping from the ends of the hair toward the scalp, then bend the ends of the rod together to form a secure loop.
3.
Allow the hair to dry in the rods overnight.
4.
Unwrap the rods, gently separate the curls with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, and finish with hairspray for a long-lasting style.

For loose, wave-like curls, wrap a larger amount of hair around one rod (use only minimal moisture or apply to dry hair). For tighter curls, wrap smaller hair sections around each rod.

Guaranteed curls with traditional rollers

Traditional hair rollers are also effective for creating curls without damaging heat. Cailap’s selection includes both self-grip (Velcro) rollers and foam rollers. Both types allow you to create curls of various sizes gently. Rollers are also available in convenient sets that include a storage pouch.

Combs and clips as helpful styling tools

Heatless curls can be created using a variety of rollers, but additional tools are also helpful. A wide-tooth comb is ideal for gently separating and opening curls. A tail comb with a metal pin assists with wrapping hair around rollers. Styling clips help keep rollers in place or section the hair during styling. Root lifters can be used to add volume at the roots.
